Brenden Aaronson and Tim Weah scored goals in the first half and Haji Wright converted a penalty kick in his debut as the U.S. men’s national team rolled to a 3-0 win over Morocco in a World Cup friendly Wednesday at TQL Stadium.
Christian Pulisic, who assisted Aaronson’s goal in the 26th minute, drew a penalty in the 63rd minute and handed the ball over to Wright for the opportunity in his first senior team call-up. Wright deposited his kick in the lower left corner of the goal for the final score, though Morocco later had a chance from the spot as well and hit the crossbar.
USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner preserved the clean sheet with seven saves in the squad’s second game at FC Cinncinnati’s home stadium in the West End.
